chef-server-api software package provides Chef configuration management system - server API, you can install in your Debian 7 (Wheezy) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install chef-server-api
chef-server-api is installed in your system.
Make ensure the chef-server-api package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep chef-server-api *
You will get with chef-server-api package name, version, architecture and description in a table
